Interest in Teaching/Training At Any Time: Opportunities may arise for qualified and exceptional part-time, day, evening, and weekend instructors to design and teach courses in business, high-tech, healthcare, and personal enrichment (cooking, history, art, languages, outdoor skills, personal improvement, home/house skills, summer youth programs, etc.). General Qualifications:  Extensive experience in subject; proven teaching ability; excellent communication skills; (and for Business Training) knowledge of current management practices, company models, trends, and resources.

These are all non-credit, part-time instructional opportunities through the Office of Continuing Education. Business and Industry Training: We are expanding our group of trainers to address expected business needs in the coming months. Areas of interest include supervision, teambuilding, technical areas, safety, plant maintenance, computers (especially day-time), etc. Qualifications:  Extensive experience in subject; proven teaching ability; excellent communication skills, knowledge of current management practices, company models, trends, and resources.

Health Care Supervisory Skills: Immediate need for qualified trainers from the health care field who can design and deliver supervisory training to a broad range of departments within a hospital, nursing home, etc. If not from health care, please indicate your qualifications for training in this specific area.  

Food Sanitation/ServSafe: Looking for certified instructors to teach the "ServSafe" food sanitation certification  OR food-related professionals with extensive experience who can qualify as instructors. Must meet one of these criteria: (1) Registered Sanitarian, Registered Dietician, or equivalent; (2) Instructor employed in a hospitality, foodservice, culinary, or equivalent program at an accredited post-secondary credential-granting school; (3) Corporate trainer employed in a foodservice operation; (4) Employed as an independent food safety instructor/ consultant; or (5) Sanitarian employed by a state or local health department. Must possess minimum of a high-school diploma or GED and achieve a minimum score of 90% on the ServSafe exam. We can schedule you in the 8-hour course and exam. If not already certified, and you achieve a 90%+ on the exam, we will reimburse your course certification fee. 

Phlebotomy: Certified phlebotomist with extensive experience to design and teach evening non-credit phlebotomy skills course of approximately 50 hours. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and teaching experience is required.       

Medical Coding and Billing: Health care professional with certification to design and teach non-credit course. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, extensive experience, and teaching experience required.

NYS Home Inspection Course: Instructor must submit the proper NYS application and meet NYS approval requirements. These include a minimum of 3 years experience as a certified home inspector with a minimum of 250 home inspections completed. Teaching experience is required.

SAT Test Preparation: We are looking for both English and Math instructors with teaching credentials and extensive teaching experience to teach the nationally-recognized Cambridge program. This program includes all materials, lesson plans, quizzes, etc. 

Summer Youth Enrichment Program: Instructors are wanted for week-long, morning "camps" starting July 7, 14, 21, 28, and August 4. Each camp is 5 mornings for a total of 15 hours. Past high-tech and low-tech programs have included robotics, computer game design, pirates, cooking, history, etc. Topics must be either mainstream and appeal to a large population OR unique to a small, but proven population. Camps are offered for (fall) grades 3-5 and 6-9. Use the "Summer Enrichment Camp Proposal Form" below. No arts-and crafts or topics already being taught in schools will be accepted. Proposals must be submitted by Friday, March 14.
