The Fulton County YMCA Playmates Child Care Center located on the college campus in a well equipped child centered facility provides affordable, quality childcare for college students and staff members. If space is available, the community at large is accepted.
Licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, the center serves children 18 months to kindergarten entrance.
Two nutritious meals, breakfast and lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided to the children each day as prescribed by the Division of Nutrition for the New York State Department of Health.
Children engage in a variety of well planned developmentally appropriate activities in classrooms arranged into learning centers to enhance the physical, social and intellectual well-being of each child. These centers include dramatic play, manipulatives, building blocks, library, creative art, computers and music. The children play outdoors daily in a fenced playground or in the college gymnasium during inclement weather. They are often seen taking walks around the college campus.
The hours of operation are 7:30am - 5:00pm for the Fall and Spring Semesters. Summer hours may be available depending upon college student needs.
Registration continues year round until the enrollment has reached the capacity of 12 Toddlers and 18 Preschoolers. Contact the director several months ahead as places can fill quickly. A waiting list will be maintained should the center reach capacity.
Fee Schedule 2005-2006
Registration: $30.00/year Toddlers and Preschoolers Tuition : $110 / full week over 30 hrs. $35.00 / full day over 6 hrs. $22.00 / half day 6 hrs.

Parent Quotes:
"I would not have been able to earn the grades that I did without you and the staff. I was invited to participate in the honors program at FM this semester and I have you to thank." "You run an excellent program and I hope the other students realize what an opportunity they have in using Playmates. Lucy loved the program." -Natasha Cucinella
My daughter, Mia, had attended FMCC playmates from the age of 2 1/2 until kindergarten. I never had to worry about the quality of care she was receiving. The staff are dedicated individuals that truly care about your child. Daily walks, playtime outside or in the gym, and exposure to different learning experiences through activities around campus, all within the safe confines of the FMCC campus - that's peace of mind. Expect a lot of projects to be sent home, as they are preparing your child for school. All this and they serve balanced meals for breakfast & lunch. You owe it to yourself and your child to check out this great gem on the FMCC campus. -Amy Sanchez |
