Fall 2006

FMCC welcomed 20 new students to FMCC coming form Benin, Africa, Bulgaria, China, Ecuador, Korea, Japan, Latvia, Lebanon, Poland, and the Ukraine.

 

Summer 2006

FMCC is welcoming 22 new International Students to campus starting this summer. These students come from Australia, Japan, Turkey, The Ukraine and Venezuela.

Spring 2006 

The International Student Office was proud to welcome 18 new international students to campus for the Spring 2006 semester. These new students represent the countries of Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Japan, Morocco, Poland and Slovakia.We typically average more than 20 countries represented in any given semester between new and continuing students.

Highlights
Located in Beautiful New York State Fulton-Montgomery Community College (FMCC) is a campus of the State University of New York (SUNY) located in rural Upstate New York at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. The campus is less than an hour's drive from the state capitol, Albany, NY as well as the famous tourist towns of Cooperstown, NY (National Baseball Hall of Fame) and Saratoga Springs, NY. It is centrally located within a four-hour drive between Boston, Manhattan, and Montreal, Canada.

Fulton-Montgomery Community College offers 57 two-year associate degree programs or one-year certificate options. FMCC has some of the most successful transfer programs in the SUNY community college system, with many students going on to earn baccalaureate and graduate degrees.

Programs
Programs include: Accounting, Business Administration; Computer Science; Criminal Justice; Early Childhood Education; Engineering Science; Fine Arts; Health, Physical Education & Recreation; Human Services; Liberal Arts & Sciences (Communications, English, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Science, and Social Sciences); Office Technology; and Undergraduate Nursing. Our newest programs include Restaurant Management, Spatial Information Technology and Theater Arts

Facilities, Costs and Calendar

Fulton-Montgomery Community College maintains one of the region's finest community college teaching facilities, with 90 percent of its teaching faculty having earned degrees at the master's or doctoral level.

Tuition is estimated at $3000.00/ semester. Classes begin September and January (15 weeks each). Summer terms vary from 5-10 weeks. Airport pickup service is available.

Student Information

FMCC is culturally diverse enrolling nearly 125-150 international students each year from twenty different nations. The size of the school, approximately 2000 students, and the design of the campus, enable each student to become involved and enjoy what college life has to offer.

Students can pre-arrange housing from a variety of options: homestay with an American family, shared apartments in a dormitory-style apartment complex adjacent to the campus, or a private apartment in one of the local communities.

FMCC is accredited by the Middlestates Association of Schools and Colleges.

Typically classes at FMCC are small, averaging about 30.

As a Fulton-Montgomery Community College student you'll enjoy campus life with our many clubs and activities. FMCC also has a long history of winning athletic teams. We offer men's baseball, basketball and soccer, women's basketball, volleyball and soccer, and co-ed track and bowling. The International Student Club also sponsors parties, trips, and cultural events.

Admission

The TOEFL exam is NOT required. FMCC offers an Intensive English Language Program. Students can enter the college for English as a Second Language study and then, after completion, directly enroll in their intended academic program.

Unique Aspects

Unique aspects about FMCC include our new academic programs and excellent facilities. We have several new buildings on campus that include a new Fitness Center, Art Gallery, Restaurant Management Dining Room and Kitchen, Computer and Science Laboratories and a Performing Arts Theater. The Spatial Information Technology Center, funded by NASA, offers students a unique opportunity to combine satellite technology with a variety of other interests for a truly unique career.
