Check with the college to learn about their individual policy for awarding scholarships. Students need to plan ahead as most colleges will require an application process with very strict deadlines. Scholarship criteria and application processes will vary. In some cases, completing an application for admissions is all that is required. Some will require an essay, a resume or perhaps an interview, and they may be merit-based, need-based, or both. Deadlines for scholarship applications will vary.
Most colleges will request completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
