Erik Wert was born and raised in Amsterdam, NY. He attended Bishop Scully High School until his junior year at which time the private school closed. Erik then had a couple of options: 1, he could attend another local high school to finish his senior year; or 2, he could attend FMCC’s Early Admissions Program where he would earn his high school diploma while receiving college credit.
